Afghanistan Visa Information

All foreign nationals must obtain an Afghanistan visa in advance.

Afghanistan does not offer a general visa on arrival. The only exception is at the Tajikistan–Afghanistan border, where visas may be issued with a processing time of 1–2 days.

Visa Types

• Tourist Visa – Valid for 30 days, single entry

• Business Visa – Longer validity, multiple entries possible

• Transit Visa – Valid for up to 72 hours

• Diplomatic Visa – For government officials only

Visa Requirements

• Passport valid for at least 6 months

• Completed visa application form

• Passport-sized photos

• Flight itinerary

• Visa fee payment

• Official invitation letter from an MFA-approved Afghan sponsor

• Dubai: from $150

• Pakistan (Islamabad / Peshawar):

  • Standard: $80

  • Express: $130

Processing Time

• Dubai & Pakistan: 1–2 business days (same-day express available)

• Tajikistan border: 1–2 days

Important Notes

• ❌ No e-visa system is available

• ⚠️ Additional travel permits may be required for certain provinces

• 🚫 Drones are strictly prohibited
